The Path to Salvation

Not the end — the beginning

Illustrated Path to Salvation: why we need salvation, how God provides it, how we receive it, and the results
  1. 1

A · Why We Need Salvation

We have all sinned, and the consequence of sin is spiritual death.
Romans 3:23 — “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 — “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Repent of sins and confess we need salvation.

  2. 2

B · How God Provides Salvation

Jesus died to pay the price for our sin.
Romans 5:8 — “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Thank Jesus for dying on the cross for you.

C · How We Can Receive Salvation

We must believe in Jesus and give our lives to Him.
Romans 10:9 — “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:13 — “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Confess belief in Jesus. True faith leads to action.

  4. 4

D · The Results of Salvation

God forgives our sins and gives us eternal life.
Romans 5:1 — “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 8:1 — “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:39 — Nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Now in Christ, you are a new creation — live in the Spirit.

Discipleship

Learning to be like Jesus

…in the everyday walk of life.

Disciple-making

Teaching others to become like Jesus

…in the everyday walk of life.

Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:6–7

As you continue to learn more about Jesus, don't ever forget that the life of discipleship and worship means both attitude and aptitude, learning and being, doing and resting. In all your learning, learn to love. And in your loving, love to grow deeper.

Discipleship is not a one-sided thing, nor a separate part of life. It is not distinct from worship, as the color red is from black. These two words describe a life well-lived in Christ.
